I appreciate supply chain management because it is practical and allows me to control each step of the production process. Upon graduation, I plan to work full-time for a large, well-established corporation with a strong supply chain management sector, such as Amazon.
After acquiring at least a decade’s worth of experience in the
supply chain industry, I plan to work for start-up companies and use my
knowledge to help those firms succeed. I love to challenge myself, and I believe working for start-ups would be the ultimate
way to expand my mind and explore the creative side of business.

Earlier in the year, Oliver Shuttlesworth, the founder of Esperos, hosted a social entrepreneurship workshop with ABSA. Oliver’s mission is to fight the effects of poverty in the developing world through his company, and I find it inspiring. With Esperos, he seeks to use the sales of his products to provide impoverished children with access to education. He discussed the importance of finding fulfilling work and integrating social responsibility into business. I want my work to have a purpose, so I aspire to one day venture into the non-profit side of business to provide the world with a better future.
